How many web developers are there in the world?

I’m looking for an estimated # of web developers in the world. People who can use at least one web development language, such as PHP, Ruby, Perl, Java, Cold Fusion, etc.
I’m not looking for a job, I need the statistic for a document I’m writing, and my research hasn’t turned anything up yet.
Just register at freelance websites like http://getafreelnacer.com/ and count the number of projects placed there per day and number of bids per project.
