Where do I find an affordable website designer?
2 Comments | Posted by admin in website designer
Craiglist is of no help… Googling gets me nowhere
I’m looking for a website designer for my crafts and cards website but I’m having no luck!!
I even tried looking at website templates to buy but I don’t know flash but I know photoshop and html well.
My budget is pretty low, about $100… Any suggestions?
Thank you!
PS. I don’t want a blog look.
I can do your entire site for $100 (this is very low as the average site cost $600 – $3000) I can make it very professional and exactly how you want it!!! best part is I can create a custom template for you even make a simple logo or banner for your site as well. If you are interested email me at Christopher_Shep@yahoo.com

Do you know any website designer design webpage for profit sharing?
4 Comments | Posted by admin in website designer
I am looking for a web designer who is interested to design a simple website and willing to share the revenue from the advertisements I bring in for the website. Any help please?
No: all attempts you may take will NOT make money to either of you!
For a site to "make money" from ads (Google ads, Adsense etc) only, you need a fair bit of visitors, and average of 2800 visitors to make… 1$.
And to get 2800 visitors, you need a VERY good site, well advertised.
A site may cost you 1000$, but its marketing will cost you at least 10,000$.
If you can’t afford to develop it, you certainly can’t afford to promote it.
This is the REAL result. Anything else is fantasy in dreamland.
Build your site yourself, install a hit-counter, recording the REAL visits.
If you get 2000 page loads PER MONTH, (that is an income of 0.71us$), you can count yourself lucky!
See the article "Making Money from Websites" at http://www.web2coders.com, "articles"…
and stop dreaming.

I want to become a website designer, where do I begin?
8 Comments | Posted by admin in website designer
I want to become a website designer but I don’t know where to begin the learning process. I am fairly confident with a computer and am able to install and use software, browse the internet and produce simple web pages. I would appreciate a response especially from those who are already experienced in website design.
Thank you
there are many free ebooks and online refrences from which u can learn web designing
the three main things which u need to learn are HTML , CSS and basic Javascripting
http://www.w3schools.com/ is the best and most comprehensive site for learning them.
u can also search on Google for helps on particular topics.
for designing web pages u can use softwares like GSNotepad (really a good one to use). once u get familiar with designing u can use sophisticated softwares like HTMLPad (another good one) .
WYSIWYG editors (in which u directly design the output) like Dreamweaver and MSfrontpage should never be used.
ALL THE BEST!!
I want to be a website designer when I’m older, so I’m trying to find out what I need to do..
I’m currently learning CSS and HTML.
I am going to get photoshop, and I am learning how to use it.
Is there anything else I need to learn, or any subjects I should focus on in school?
What uni qualifications are there that would help me be a website designer?
Any additional information would be appreciated too.
Thanks!
Four simple tips to better your web design skills:
1) Do a homework on XHTML, CSS and Photoshop on regular basis. Read good books and online resources for 2 hours daily.
2) Visit three to four best design websites on regular basis to get yourself updated with latest CSS design and techniques. You can look for www.cssdrive.com, www.cssbeauty.com/gallery/, w3csites.com
3) Start building a website: It may be your own or for your school etc. You can use www.webs.com a free web hosting providers to upload and make your site LIVE.
4) Look for a review from few popualar website reviews sites like:
www.sitepoint.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=12
webmasterworld.com or www.webmasterforums.com/web-site-design-reviews/
www.daniweb.com/forums/forum55.html
After getting negative comments, works on it to improve and again post your feedback letting the users know about the update you made.
REPEAT steps 1 to 4 for 1 year and once your site is ready, get back to me to do some freelance work for us
I’m doing a research report on the career Web Development for Uni.
On of the things I have to write about is why society needs Web Developers.
My brain currently isn’t working and all I’ve written is "They make web pages and everyone uses web pages". Which is pretty pathetic.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
You could mention how important the internet is to society at the moment, all the traditional forms of news/information sharing are dwarfed in comparison to the enormity of the internet. If the internet was to be switch off tomorrow there would be very few people on the planet not effected. Web developers are the life blood of the internet, without them the internet would be hella boring. They make what could be immensley complex easily digestible and understandable so you don’t need a degree in computer science to participate.

What are the biggest 5 questions people ask a website designer before hiring him or her?
2 Comments | Posted by admin in website designer
If you were a small or medium sized business, what are the main 5 questions on your head before choosing a certain website designer?
Here is a bit more detail.
1. The person is hiring a single person.
2. They are doing both, design and development.
3. They design a completely original website not from a template.
4. It depends on if the client wants an online store or not.
This really needs a little more clarification:
1. Are you hiring a single person, or a studio?
2. Are they designing the site only, are they developing only, or are they doing both?
3. Are they simply making a design for a template (will need minimal development)?
4. Are you doing e-commerce (selling things online)?
All of these will determine the core questions you should ask. I await your edits to your question : )
OK, a lot better knowing what’s going on.
1. You definitely need to see a portfolio, and since this person is both designing and developing, you need him to show you a couple of live sites that he has done. After the initial interview, click through those sites he did and make sure everything works and looks good. (Gonna use masculine voice when referring to the designer, it’s just easier. Don’t mean to offend).
2. Ask what his process is for doing sites–from initial brainstorming and sketches all the way to launch.
*follow-up with asking how long it takes to build a site like the one you want.
*follow-up the above question by asking how many projects he works on at one time (this will let you know how accessible he is, and how easy he can deal with unexpected problems, additions, or changes).
3. Ask what his policy on changes is. Every web site project (in my experience) has at LEAST one change. Usually designers will include " — rounds of changes" if they are charging you a fixed price and are experienced. Changes can be a BIG point of contention, so get it straight early.
4. Ask what his solution for managing the site post-launch is. Does he include a CMS (content management system) for you? Does he charge you his hourly rate to work on it? Does he charge you a reduced rate?
5. Ask why you should hire him over another designer or studio. (If the answer is ONLY that he is cheaper, be careful, this means he doesn’t feel like he specializes in anything).
General Tips:
-NEVER be the first one to name a price. If you offer low they will bump you up, if you offer high, they will not bump you down.
-Do not ask leading questions (questions that have an obvious right answer). You are setting yourself up to have him fudge on the truth. Make him talk a lot. A really good designer will answer most of your questions above before you ask them.
Hope this helps!
